An Emergency Plan is required within the context of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation 2011. It is a written document detailing how a workplace and its occupants deal with or manage an emergency, including fire. The actions taken in the initial minutes of an emergency are critical. The first step of developing an Emergency Response Plan is to conduct a risk assessment to identify potential emergency scenarios and the source of such situations. This will provide the basis for determination of resource requirements and procedure preparation. First Response Training, General Evacuation Training and Warden Training will all refer to the Emergency Plan of a particular site.
