A special hazard fire suppression system is typically used in areas where the facilities or assets need special preservation and or water damage would be too costly. These are usually environments with very high risk or prone to damage from traditional fire sprinkler systems. Special hazards systems are engineered and designed specifically for a space with particular importance on quick detection of a fire or heat condition; early notice for evacuation; fire suppression when fire sprinklers are not appropriate as the first or only means of fire protection and for mitigation of business interruption. Special hazards applications include various gases, foam, water spray mist and dry chemical and are coupled with early warning air sampling detection.
